2014 was the year when Scotland Welcomed The World. It was an exciting year as Scotland played host to not just The Ryder Cup but to two other world-class events - Homecoming Scotland and the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Homecoming Scotland presented a year-long programme of events and festivals, celebrating the very best of Scottish food and drink, Scotland’s outstanding active and natural resources, as well as our creativity, culture and ancestral heritage.

The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games (23 July – 3 August) generated 1.2million ticket sales with hundreds of thousands of visitors and 6,500 athletes from 71 nations enjoying home grown hospitality. More than 1.5 billion people tuned in to watch Glasgow flourish under world’s spotlight.

In 2015 alone, there are many major sporting events happening across Scotland including The Open, St Andrews;  Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, Gullane; World Orienteering Championships, Highlands; IPC Swimming World Championships and The World Gymnastics Championships, Glasgow and the FEI European Eventing Championships at Blair Castle, Perthshire.

So, whenever you come and wherever you visit, you’ll be very welcome!
